Waar Taxi ("Waar", "we", "us") operates the Waar Taxi mobile application (the "App"), a ride-booking service connecting riders and drivers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

• Account information: name, phone number, and email address you provide when creating an account.
• Location data: precise (GPS) location to match riders with nearby drivers, calculate routes and fares, and show trip progress. Drivers who are online share their location in the background (even when the app is closed) so riders can be matched and see driver ETA.
• Trip and usage data: pickup/drop-off addresses, saved places (e.g. Home/Work), ride history, and in-app support/chat messages.
• Driver verification data: for users applying to drive, we collect identity/vehicle documents and photos submitted through the app.
• Device information: push-notification tokens, app version, and device identifiers used for service delivery and crash/performance diagnostics.

How We Use Information

• To provide core functionality: matching riders and drivers, navigation, dispatch, and fare calculation.
• To send trip-related notifications (e.g. driver arrival, ride status, low driver-credit alerts).
• To operate support/help features and respond to inquiries.
• To maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the platform (e.g. reviewing driver applications).

How We Share Information

We share the minimum information necessary between a matched rider and driver (e.g. name, approximate location, contact details for the trip) so the trip can be completed. We do not sell your personal information. We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, cloud messaging) and Google Maps to operate the App; these providers process data on our behalf under their own security safeguards.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain account and trip data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us below.

Your Choices

• You can decline background location access; doing so may limit driver-matching functionality if you are a driver.
• You can edit or delete saved places and account details from within the app's Settings.
• You can request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

Waar Taxi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
